About CEREDDA

An African-Centred Think Tank Since 1993

The Centre for Research on Democracy and Development in Africa (CEREDDA) was created in May 1993 as an indigenous Pan-African Think Tank to provide civil society perspectives and African-centred frameworks on the continent's democratisation, governance, and development challenges.

Formally registered in 2013 under Cameroon Law 90-53, CEREDDA operates under the motto "Unity, Development, Service" — running five flagship programmes and hosting the Presidency of the Cameroon Think Tank Network since 2017. Founded by Ambassador Churchill Ewumbue-Monono, Cameroon's Permanent Representative to the African Union.

  • Pan-Africanism and African Unity
  • Public Service & Civic Responsibility
  • International Solidarity & Humanitarianism
